Mykonoan Decoration

One of the characteristics of Mykonoan architecture is a form of incised decoration which is clearly of quite ancient origins, a type of folk art which helps to give the houses individuality.   Here are some examples:-

    Reminds me a bit of the decorative parjeting I’ve seen on old houses in Suffolk and Essex! Very much enjoying reading your posts from Mykonos and neighbouring islands. The museums and classical sites look so interesting and De Chirico like. I am inspired to visit.
