I also looked in on St. Stephen Walbrook, a curiously anonymous entrance for one of the largest and grandest of Wren’s City Churches, originally crammed in next to the old Stocks Market:-

The interior dome is wonderful, but I had forgotten quite how unsympathetic the modern interior is, designed to show off a large travertine altar by Henry Moore:-

The reredos looks as if it might be by Grinling Gibbons, but is by Thomas Creecher:-
