I have been recuperating after the trip to Israel, blogless after an intellectual and sensory overload, consoled only by the monster tulips in the garden:-
The tulips are absolutely beautiful and look almost like dahlias in their burnished autumn orange. I’m reminded too of Louis MacNeice’s giant roses in his poem Snow. Thank you for sharing your tulips!

I love parrot tulips best, but these are really beautiful – what fantastic colour.
