While I was mooching round Liverpool Street Station considering the plans for its redevelopment, I could not help noticing two things.
First, there is an absolutely massive amount of unused or underused space between Platforms 10 and 11 if you go to the Lost Property Office. If the argument is that the station is suffering from overcrowding, why is all this vacant space not being used ?
Second, the ironwork structure of the railway sheds is exceptionally fine and under-appreciated:-

Dear Charles,
I admire your persistence on this. It does seem particularly insane even in these times. May I use your good offices on here to communicate with Piers Bedford whose contact details I have somehow lost, to tell him of my book “10 Scotland Street – an opinionated history of one house thorough two centuries,” out 1st December in which he will find some people and places he he knew in his youth? It also btw mentions the Whitechapel Bell Foundry. I apologise if this is inappropriate but I believe he will be interested in the book. Thank you
Dear Leslie, Of course, it sounds interesting. I will see if I can forward it to him. Charles
Thank you
