My article about Llanfairfechan, Herbert North’s model village and its magnificent Church Institute, has now appeared online. I very much hope an appropriate use can be found for the Church Institute:-

In a similar (though less architecturally interesting) vein there is a very good article in the current issue of the New Statesman. It’s by Robert Colls, is called ‘The Death of a Church’ and is about the closure of the Methodist church he attended on Tyneside. There he joined the Boys’ Brigade and subsequently the Young People’s Fellowship with it’s philosophical debates (a ‘free university’ as the author describes it). Anyone can read the article for free by registering with the New Statesman.
Thank you. I will look. Charles
