I have realised that it was fatal to do a post about the London Hospital without explaining what I was doing there. The short answer is that Romilly went into hospital last Wednesday with a small blood clot and is still there under observation. I am really grateful to the well wishers from around the globe.
For two days, we were able to enjoy the view:-
It certainly makes a change from the old London Hospital which is due to be developed as the new Town Hall:-

My dear Charles, Really upset to hear Romilly is in hospital. Please give her all my love and wish her better very quickly. If there is anything I can do please let me know. She might like me to visit? Love, Ruth. Dear Ruth, Am waiting to hear today’s prognosis. Am hoping she might be allowed home tomorrow. Charles
Hope Romilly is OK and will return home swiftly. By the way we met Jamie and Jessica and we enjoyed very much meeting them.
Yes, I heard from them and they really enjoyed meeting you both. A nice photo of you on a beach ! Charles
I wondered when I read your posts but didn’t want to ask in a comment on your blog…. please send her my wishes for a quick journey home… the hospital is so boring. When David was in St. Mary’s Paddington, I took a number of pictures of the view, the hospital, and then decided to take the bus home by different circuitous routes. Seems so strange to take that time to look and explore, but love that you did that as well. I hope to hear Romilly is home and recovered…
Dear Leslie, Yes, it’s a form of distraction, wandering and exploring, but mostly in the vicinity of the hospital. Charles
