I went on one of my increasingly occasional visits to Egg Trading, Maureen Doherty’s wonderful shop in Kinnerton Street where Edmund de Waal had his first exhibition and where everything is beautifully and theatrically displayed, but where I am no longer allowed to buy anything:-

I love egg. Everything is so visually delicious there.
I remember when I used to be able to buy from there – but prices have escalated.
The last time I was there, there were ceramics by Carina Ciscato on sale. Her work has affinities with de Waal’s – porcelain, subdued glaze colours – but it’s less cerebral and I think more clever than his.
I don’t know her work. I must look out for it. Charles
