Cowslips

I went to see an artist whose studio is on the edge of the canal by Mile End Park.

I was amazed to discover that the park was full of cowslips, which I think of in countryside and woodland, not the heart of the city:-

  1. Victoria White's avatar Victoria White says:

Wonderful, I wonder if someone planted some and they have taken off? We went to Emmetts Garden in Kent today and there were carpets of English bluebells and primroses in flower, but not a cowslip in sight.

  2. whatever else people might say about LBTH, they do do a good job of ad hoc wild flowers…not just through Mile End park, but in random pockets of lawn on otherwise drab estates, some of which even escape the zealous vigour of the mowing tractors….
