    Hello Charles,
    I enjoyed reading your piece on Sir Roy Strong. It reminded me that, when I was Sculpture Coordinator (on behalf of West Midlands Arts) of the Stoke National Garden Festival in 1986, I invited Sir Roy to make the inaugural telephone call for a sound artwork I’d commissioned. The piece, by Audio Arts, lasted for the six months of the festival, with a different sound work for each month. We persuaded BT to supply the tel no line free for the duration.
    Here he is, posing against a backdrop of a Henry Moore Reclining Figure on loan.
