His latest book ‘The Good Enough Life’ is particularly good in exploring the impact of dramatic changes in Irish society over the last decades. His recommendation to read Fintan O’Toole’s book ‘We Don’t Know Ourselves’ before reading his was a good one. Miller’s ‘The Comfort of Things’ remains one of my favourite books.
