Wickham’s

I have already done a post about the restoration of Wickham’s, the local East End department store which was built to rival Selfridge’s and has now been impressively repaired and repointed in all its 1920s, neoclassical glory. It looks like Valhalla:-

  1. It looks even more wonderful at night when the tower is illuminated and can be seen across Globe Town and Stepney (guiding one to the Genesis Cinema, like one a Trinity lighthouse). But when will it be fully tenanted? Foxcroft and Ginger is long gone, and there is little activity in the retail or workspaces. When I enquired about workspaces I was referred on and the enquiry not followed up.
