This article tells us what we all pretty well knew: that the government walked into the Coronavirus catastrophe with its ears shut, gloating about their election victory, looking forward to the triumphalism of Brexit, and spending time in the country planning for the new baby, whilst not paying attention to any of the warnings which were there for all, except the government, to see. They weren’t too worried about the deaths of a few old age pensioners, as Dominic Cummings advised a meeting of special advisers.
Thank you for sending the article. I have just read it having heard snippets on TV this morning . It’s what we all expected I am sorry to say. What terrible terrible time we are in. What on earth happens next??
On a positive note we are so lucky to be here in beautiful North Wales with no shortage of food in our homes. It’s heartbreaking watching the news seeing so many people depending on the food banks and locked in.
We are keeping very busy here at Crug with mailorder. The staff are doing sterling work and their morale is good as it’s easy for us all to work within the guidelines. The sunshine also helps a lot. We have our breaks on the front lawn looking out on to Snowdonia. It feels almost normal until we have to leave the property!!
Keep well and safe
Love to you both

Dear Sue, So nice to hear from you and that the business is able to carry on. Greetings from us both ! Charles
Here in Australia we seem to be doing quite well to contain it and the curve has now flattened for several days. The human side of it comes closer as we just heard that my partner’s cousin’s son has died from it in Birmingham. She is in Corwallo and unable to attend the funeral.
Dear Jean, Yes, I fear there are many terrible stories. You seem to have done well, and NZ too, and some European countries, but not us. Charles
