I opened my summer edition of King’s Parade, the magazine for people who attended King’s, to find an entirely unexpected recommendation of the excellent so-called Dictionary, really a volume of short essays, on Provenance in Architecture, to which I contributed an entry on ‘Craft’.
Summer reading…..

Hello Charles
Your articles have given me much pleasure. Especially on Sir Christopher Ondaatje…
By chance I wrote a note today on the Ionic Temple in the Gardens of Chiswick House – a note mainly structured around provenance. Doubtless my note is full of errors and academic references not fully cited nor copyright dealt with. So apologies for inflicting it on you.
I will try and finish my notes on music and architecture ..And on Flitcroft and the languishing low relief carvings.
Have a great rest of the summer.
Best wishes
